CA$H Maine is made possible thanks to the efforts of community volunteers. All volunteer tax preparers are certified by the IRS, and follow a strict set of guidelines to maintain the highest level of client confidentiality.
In 2012, our volunteers helped nearly 4,000 Mainers with free tax preparation and financial asset coaching, bringing more than $5.6 million in federal refunds and $2.4 million worth of Earned Income Tax Credits back to the Maine economy. With volunteers like you, we were able to increase the number of people we served by 12 percent.

A new study released by the nonprofit Corporation for Enterprise Development shows that the poorest 20% of families pay more of their income in taxes than top 1% of families. The national organization also rated Maine in five key areas: financial assets and income; businesses and jobs; housing and homeownership; healthcare and education.
