VOLUNTEER

Volunteer with the Midcoast CA$H coalition and help individuals and families earning under $50,000 get the most of their hard-earned paychecks through free tax preparation and financial asset coaching.

Last year our free income tax preparation sites helped households:

  • Save more than $70,000 by avoiding high-priced income tax filing fees and Refund Anticipation Loans, and
  • Access the Earned Income Tax Credit, which is the federal government’s largest anti-poverty program. Last year $269,000 worth of Earned Income Tax Credits were returned to the Midcoast Maine economy.
  • Receive education about financial literacy and community resources that can help with basic needs, financial management and asset building.

Help us put money back into our community!
Volunteer for the 2012 tax season…  We need:

  • Outreach help: Enjoy meeting new people and doing presentations? Help spread the word about our program at chamber meetings, professional associations, employee meetings, etc.

Requirements:

  • Attend required training (no experience needed) in November, December or January;
