After retiring and moving back to Portland, Rich Moran wanted to get involved. He had always been interested in the tax process, so when he came across an opportunity to help people with their taxes, he jumped.
“The CA$H Maine tax preparer volunteer opportunity presented itself. It looked interesting, so I tried it, and I’ve been doing it ever since,” says Rich. “It is a great way to volunteer and give back. The people who receive these services are greatly appreciative and that makes me feel good.”
CA$H Greater Portland (Creating Assets, Savings and Hope), a program of United Way of Greater Portland in partnership with Goodwill Industries of Northern New England, is looking for volunteers for our free income tax preparation events.
CA$H helps individuals and families achieve long-term financial stability—our free tax preparation events are a money saving and educational resource for the community.
