CA$H Maine is a collaboration of eight statewide coalitions, comprised of 50 non- and for-profit partners, working together to help low- and moderate-income Mainers make the most of their money. Our free tax preparation sites are a program of the Internal Revenue Services Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. AARP Tax-Aide, a program of the AARP Foundation and the nation’s largest free, volunteer-run tax assistance and preparation service available, is a statewide partner of CA$H Maine. AARP Tax-Aide is a member of the Internal Revenue Service’s Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) program.
Other statewide partners include Casey Family Services, Consumer Credit Counseling Services of Maine, Goodwill Industries of Northern New England, KeyBank, Maine Centers for Women, Work and Community, and Pine Tree Legal Assistance.
For more information about our regional partners, please visit each CA$H Coalition’s Web site.
Volunteers with the The Midcoast Maine Creating Assets, Savings, and Hope (CA$H) coalition are offering free assistance with the Maine Residents Property Tax and Rent Refund Application, known as the “Circuit Breaker” program through October of this year and then again during the 2011 tax season.
The Midcoast Maine Creating Assets, Savings, and Hope (CA$H) coalition has wrapped up another record-breaking tax season, helping 330 taxpayers file federal and state income taxes that resulted in more than $600,000 worth of refunds going back to the local economy.
