Summer Learning in Augusta

New Ventures Maine is now accepting registrations for several engaging, tuition-free classes!

 

  • My Money Works will meet on four Thursdays, July 14 – August 4, from 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the University of Maine at Augusta.
    This class, open to adults of all abilities, provides the tools to create a budget, learn about credit use, make a savings plan, and set and meet financial goals.  To register, contact Sherrie Brann at 621-3436 or [email protected].

 

  • Career Planning will be offered online from July 6 – August 5, so that you may complete the work at your own pace during the scheduled weeks of the class.  This class provides guidance in identifying your skills, interests, and work experiences and relating them to careers available in the local job market.   • Introduction to Self Employment is offered on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Augusta CareerCenter. This one-session workshop will help you decide if self-employment is the right choice for you. Learn about the pros and cons of owning your own business, and how to get started!  To register, call the CareerCenter at 624-5120.   • Business Basics will meet on three Tuesdays, July 12 to July 26, from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. at New Ventures Maine. This class covers the basics of a business plan, marketing, and cash planning.
